Rail Transportation Southeast Wyoming is served by both the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF) and the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR). There are numerous opportunities, from using existing facilities with transload capabilities, to upgrading existing spurs to meet your specific needs. Rail Service Provider: BNSF
Rail Service Provider: BNSF The Town of Guernsey owns a light industrial park with rail siding served by the BNSF Railway that is approximately 1,100 feet long. The existing siding is leased until 2016, however there is opportunity for a customer to build out new siding on additional lots. Zoning varies between Commercial and Industrial, and the lots have water, sewer, electricity, and phone. There are twenty lots, each 2-3 acres in size and multiple lots can be joined into one larger lot. Access to US Hwy 26 is less than a quarter mile. Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site north of Wheatland has one track with 60 feet of rail siding. It is served by the BNSF Railway and is less than a quarter mile from US Hwy 26.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF Lingle, 10 miles west of Torrington, has a site served by the BNSF Railway that can accommodate 15 rail cars. The owner, Lamphier, Inc. also owns land immediately to the west and could extend the track to accommodate 25 cars. Available utilities are water, sewer, and electricity, and grain storage is available for up to 350,000 bushels. The site is within a quarter mile of US Hwy 26/85. Mobe Junction, served by the BNSF Railway, is the branch to bring coal to the Laramie River Station power plant.
Rail Service Provider: Union Pacific Railroad The spur is within 1 mile of the southern city limits. The 1,500 feet of rail siding, with access to the spur, is served by the Union Pacific Railroad. There are some issues with the condition of the track between Torrington and Yoder, to the south. Water and electricity are available on site. Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site served by the BNSF is on the north side of Wheatland, less than a mile away access to I-25. Zoned Heavy Industrial, there are two spurs available, with a combined length of 4,600 feet of track. Rail Service Provider: Union Pacific Railroad The spur is on the north side of the Town of Yoder, approximately 15 miles south of Torrington. The siding has a 50 car load-out capacity and is served by the Union Pacific Railroad. Grain Storage is available for up to 260,000 bushels. The site is approximately two miles from US Hwy 85. Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site south of Wheatland has one track with 5,300 feet of rail siding. It is served by the BNSF Railway and is approximately 6 miles from I-25.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is approximately 15 miles south of Wheatland in Platte County. It is served by the BNSF Railway and is approximately 3 miles from access to I-25.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF The properties with rail access are located on the north side of town and are primarily owned by a private owner, John Voight. Chugwater Economic Development owns two light industrial lots adjacent to the Voight properties with rail a total of 500 feet of rail spur. These properties are served by the BNSF Railway and the 3 spurs are combined approximately 2,000 feet length. Zoning varies between Heavy and Light Industrial. There are 4-6 lots, ranging from ½ - 2 acres in size and some lots can be joined into one larger lot. Access to State Highway 313 is adjacent, and I-25 is less than a half mile. Rail Service Provider: Union Pacific Railroad The spur is on the northeast side of the Town of LaGrange, approximately 40 miles south of Torrington. The siding has a 10 car load-out capacity and is served by the Union Pacific Railroad. Grain Storage is available for up to 20,000 bushels. Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is in the northwest corner of Laramie County. It is served by the BNSF Railway and its siding is approximately 4,000 feet long. It is approximately 20 miles along the county road, Iron Mountain/ Horsecreek Road, from I-25 and the town of Chugwater.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is also in the northwest corner of Laramie County along Iron Mountain/Horsecreek Road. It is served by the BNSF Railway. It is approximately 30 miles along the county road from I-25 and the town of Chugwater.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is also in the northwest corner of Laramie County along Iron Mountain/Horsecreek Road. It is served by the BNSF Railway. It is approximately 32 miles along the county road from I-25 and the town of Chugwater.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is near the western border of Laramie County. It is served by the BNSF Railway and its siding is approximately 3,000 feet long. It is approximately halfway between Chugwater and Cheyenne and access to I-25, each approximately 35 miles away along the county road, Iron Mountain/ Horsecreek Road.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is also near the western border of Laramie County along Horsecreek Road. It is served by the BNSF Railway. It is approximately 25 miles along the county road from I-25 and the city of Cheyenne.
Rail Service Provider: Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) This site served by the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) is being improved into a transmodal site to be operated by the LEDC, LLC, supported by the Laramie Economic Development Corporation. Construction is scheduled to be completed by 2012 when the site will have two tracks with approximately 1,600 feet to accommodate up to 20 cars. Zoning for lots available through UPRR are Industrial and Commercial, with electricity available on location. For more information contact the LEDC, LLC, (307) 742-2212.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is approximately 20 miles northwest of Cheyenne in Laramie County along a county road. It is served by the BNSF Railway and its siding is approximately 1,400 feet long.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF This site is approximately 10 miles northwest of Cheyenne in Laramie County along a county road. It is served by the BNSF Railway and is approximately 6 miles from access to I-25.
Rail Service Provider: Union Pacific Railroad Located along I-80 east of Cheyenne, the closest town is Pine Bluffs, only 7 miles away. Currently there is one existing track ¾ mile long (~4,000 ft) which is transloading one commodity. It is projected to grow in scope and provide increased transload services.
Rail Service Provider: BNSF and Union Pacific Railroad The Cheyenne Logistics Hub is located in the new Swan Ranch business park. Currently under construction, it will have service from both the BNSF and the Union Pacific Railroads, and has access to the both I-25 and I-80. With plans for more than 10 feeder tracks, there will be at least 2 miles of siding available. Different sizes of lots are available from 5 to 50 acres, with zoning ranging from heavy industrial, to light industrial and Highway Commercial.
